Histórico e Identidade
O Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisa Educação e Contemporaneidade (EDUCON) iniciou sua trajetória em 2004, sendo institucionalizado em 2007 sob a liderança da Profa. Dra. Veleida Anahi Cápua da Silva Charlot e do Prof. Dr. Bernard Charlot (1944-2025). Com base em um projeto de extensão aprovado pela PROEX, o EDUCON consolidou-se como um espaço de investigação e articulação acadêmica dedicado a conectar a universidade, a escola e a sociedade.
Em 2007, o grupo realizou o primeiro Colóquio Internacional Educação e Contemporaneidade (EDUCON). Desde então, o evento firmou-se como um encontro anual de socialização científica e fortalecimento de redes acadêmicas internacionais, alcançando sua 18ª edição em abril de 2026.
A Gênese da Revista e o Legado Intelectual
A criação da Revista Internacional Educon foi uma resposta direta à comunidade acadêmica. Pesquisadores e participantes do Colóquio buscavam um veículo permanente que permitisse o debate científico rigoroso, transcendendo o formato anual dos Anais do evento.
O Prof. Bernard Charlot (1944-2025), atento a esse movimento, externou essa demanda ao seu filho, o Prof. Dr. Yan Cápua Charlot, para que este idealizasse e estruturasse um formato editorial de excelência. Assim, a revista nasceu para ser um espaço vivo de "aprender a pesquisar pesquisando", mantendo o compromisso com a formação de pesquisadores e a relevância pública do conhecimento.
Atualmente, o grupo mantém sólidas redes de cooperação internacional com instituições na França (Universidade Paris 8 e ESPE de Rouen), Portugal (Universidades de Lisboa e do Porto), Argentina (Universidade de La Plata) e Uruguai (Universidade da República). O legado intelectual do Prof. Bernard Charlot (1944-2025) segue sendo cultivado e expandido pela Profa. Dra. Veleida Charlot, pelo Prof. Dr. Yan Cápua Charlot e pelos demais pesquisadores do grupo, mantendo a revista conectada aos desafios da transformação social.
History and Identity
The Education and Contemporaneity Research Group (EDUCON) began its activities in 2004 and was formally institutionalized in 2007 under the leadership of Prof. Veleida Anahi Cápua da Silva Charlot, PhD, and Prof. Bernard Charlot, PhD (1944-2025). Originating from a community outreach project, EDUCON established itself as a space for academic investigation and coordination dedicated to bridging university, school, and society.
In 2007, the group held the first International Colloquium on Education and Contemporaneity (EDUCON). Since then, the event has become an annual milestone for scientific socialization and the strengthening of international academic networks, reaching its 18th edition in April 2026.
The Genesis of the Journal and the Intellectual Legacy
The creation of the Revista Internacional Educon was a direct response to the academic community. Researchers and Colloquium participants sought a permanent vehicle for rigorous scientific debate, moving beyond the annual format of the conference proceedings.
Prof. Bernard Charlot (1944-2025), mindful of this movement, expressed this demand to his son, Prof. Yan Cápua Charlot, PhD, for him to envision and structure an editorial format of excellence. Thus, the journal was born to be an active space for "learning to research by researching," maintaining a commitment to researcher training and the public relevance of knowledge.
Currently, the group maintains solid international cooperation networks with institutions in France (University Paris 8 and ESPE de Rouen), Portugal (Universities of Lisbon and Porto), Argentina (University of La Plata), and Uruguay (University of the Republic). The intellectual legacy of Prof. Bernard Charlot (1944-2025) continues to be cultivated and expanded by Prof. Veleida Charlot, Prof. Yan Cápua Charlot, and all EDUCON researchers, keeping the journal connected to the challenges of social transformation.
