Resumo

This article explores research and memory centers dedicated to investigations into the History of Education in Sergipe. The study addresses historical aspects of their creation and the educational research potential present in the following centers: the Centro de Educação e Memória do Atheneu Sergipense (CEMAS); Centro de Pesquisa, Documentação e Memória do Colégio de Aplicação (CEMDAP); Instituto Tobias Barreto de Educação e Cultura (ITBEC); and the Centro de Memória e Documentação do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação da Universidade Tiradentes (Unit). The general objective is to explore the process of creation of these centers and to analyze the potential of their collections as spaces for investigation in the History of Education. The collections, composed of photographs, oral testimonies, administrative documents, and records of students and teachers, offer vast research possibilities. The study demonstrates how these centers enable investigations into the history of institutions, pedagogical practices, school subjects, and intellectuals in Sergipe.
