A cidade justa em Platão: contornos educacionais

Maria Lenilda Caetano França

Resumo

This text is part of the axis of the History of Ancient Education, in which Plato appears as an object of scientific investigation, responding to questions about education within the just city. The educational system presented by him in search of truth, justice and virtue, mobilized an entire society in order to build a just city. For its constitution, Plato builds a political-philosophical-educational project, which consisted of educating young Greeks so that, based on an education in which aptitudes were respected, they would reach the realization of the just city. It is in this trail of propositions that the present research, based on a theoretical study, is directed, in knowing the education project thought by Plato, and, what are the educational outlines present in the project that would lead to the constitution of the fair city. Thus, the research begins with Plato's ideas about the fair city, presenting his conceptions about Politics, State and Education, describing from the consulted literature, his educational thought about the education of the virtuous man, which consists of an essential figure in the realization of the fair city. We believe that the ideology presented by Plato is timeless and of inestimable value.
